Beyond the Bench
Join panel sessions with those who left academia and went into industry. Panelists will share insights of working in industry and their career progressions.
These discussions will allow graduate students to have an open mind when it comes to career searching without the feeling of being stuck on the academic path.
Roundtable Discussions
Roundtable discussions will bring people with similar work experience level (entry, senior, people manager, etc.) to share stories among each other, regarding topics such as:

Our Mission
IMPACTs strives to create a peer-to-peer support system within industries, provide practical tools and insights on navigating the corporate world, and expose students to careers outside of academia.
Daniel Lee
Daniel leads the global financial planning and advice team at BrightPlan, a financial wellness fintech startup. Prior to BrightPlan, Daniel was a wealth manager for wealthy families in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is also an instructor and on the Advisory Board of the Personal Financial Planning program at UC Berkeley Extension.
Marcy Axelrod
Marcy Axelrod has spent the past twenty-five years uncovering nature’s model of how humans are designed to thrive. Marcy’s work combines neuroscience, psychology, behavioral economics, and biology with top consulting strategies and twenty years of her own research. She is the executive director of the Show Up Institute, a social enterprise dedicated to creating a more grounded, ready, Alltelligent culture.
Stella Chun
Stella Chun is associated with KSEA and Thermo Fisher Scientific and has recently ventured into the world of DiSC as a trainer. She harnesses insights of DiSC profiling to create positive impacts in the workplace. With a focus on career advancement, Stella integrates DiSC principles to enhance collaboration, communication, and overall team effectiveness.

Hyatt Regency Long Island is a full-service upscale hotel on the southeastern coast of New York with resort-like amenities, creative on-site dining, and more. Considered a Long Island hidden gem, the hotel is easily accessible from Islip MacArthur and Ronkonkoma train stations, JFK and LaGuardia airports, as well as major highways.
Accommodation
KSEA members will receive 2 nights of lodging (w/ one assigned roommate) with the registration fee of $200. You may also have the option to room alone at an extra charge.
